Nawaz Sharif Does Not Get Bail Extension By Punjab Government

The Punjab Government rejected the application for bail extension submitted by Nawaz Sharif, the former Prime Minister.

Muhammad Basharat Raja, provincial law minister, announced the decision with provincial health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Fayyazul Chohan.

The reports submitted to the provincial government have been marked incomplete repeatedly. Nawaz team has been asked for revised reports twice.

Nawaz is supposed to be serving 7 years of jail time as he was diagnosed with acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) back in October 2019.

When he left Pakistan, he was in a very critical condition. His brother accompanied him in the departure from Pakistan on November 20, 2019.

PTI also allowed him to fly after the doctors proved that his treatment was not possible in Pakistan. The Punjab government sees him as a suspect for escaping the jail.
