Pakistan announces one-month summer break for schools
As stated by the federal government, summer vacations for Pakistani students will commence from July 2, 2021, and will end on July 31, 2021.

The Academic Calendar for the year has also been issued by the Federal Directorate of Education as follows:
May 18 to 31: centralized examinations for grades V to VIII
June 1 to 15: in-house examinations for grades I, II, III, IV, VI, and VII
June 30: results for centralized exams
July 1: results for in-house exams
August 2: commencement of the new academic year
However, Kashif Mirza Chairman of All Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) has denied the beginning of the new session on 1 August 2021 and stated that the beginning of the new session would commence in April 2021, as coz of the Covid-19 pandemic, more than five million have already faced a lot in case of educational loses. He further mentioned that coursebooks have not reached the market that can have a uniform syllabus.
All educational institutions were closed last February due to a rise in Corona cases. They were reopened in different phases, class wise. Classes from 9th grade to university level were reopened on September 15, 2020. Middle school classes (6-8 grades) on 23rd September and classes under 6 on September 30.
But that reopening was proved to be temporary as the educational institutions were closed again due to a rise in cases second wave of Covid-19, on November 26.
Classes were scheduled online till December 24, 2020, and the winter vacations were started on December 25 and ended on January 10, 2021. The government said it conducts a meeting to review its decision of reopening institutions on January 4.
And so, the government allowed the reopening of schools and colleges from grade 9 and above on January 18.

Private schools reopened in late January whereas government schools will reopen from February 1.
