Pakistan Records This year's Highest One Day Rise In COVID19 cases in Last 24 hours.
As predicted, Pakistan is heading towards the third wave of COVID-19 at a more than expected fast pace. As per the records, the highest number of COVID19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours since January this year.
Earlier this month, the government has announced to reopen educational institutions, as well as wedding halls, were allowed to resume their operations. But, the increase in COVID19 cases is threatening especially in Punjab, as, just in Punjab total number of coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours is over 1200. And the number has crossed 2000 cases all over the country taking the tally to 597,497.

The breakdown of cases recorded is as follows:
- Islamabad: 350 cases
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 289 cases
- Sindh: 256 cases
- Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 57 cases
- Balochistan: 16 cases
Considering this continuous increase in coronavirus cases, the government was forced to reconsider the decision of reopening educational institutions. Therefore, it was decided on Wednesday to close down all the schools in the 7 main cities of Punjab from 15th March till 28th March, on account of the spring holidays. However, universities will shift their classes to online platforms.
Furthermore, Pakistan has started vaccinated senior citizens who are above 60 years.
