Punjab Government issues a notification on Monday imposing ban on eviction of tenants by landlords. However, the statement reads that the order shall remain in force for two months.
Under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Additional Home Secretary Momin Agha bans the evictions of tenants. He urges that on non-payment or delayed payment of rents the landlords should not evict the tenants. However, he informs that the decision will remain in place for the next two months.
