In the current market of exclusive phones, Sony has launched Xperia 8 in Japan, A mid-range smartphone. Being at the lower side in terms of specifications, the phone looks like Xperia 10.

This mid-ranger encompasses Sony’s signature 21:9 display along with tri-luminous display, side sense bar and dual-sensor back camera.

Having same rectangular body as Xperia 10, it has dual sensor rear camera horizontally aligned in the center. The smartphone comes with Gorilla Glass 6 both on front and back.

The phone can easily fit into the palm of user hands and allows them to use applications seamlessly because of its tall form factor. Working as a fingerprint scanner/power button the fingerprint scanner is placed on the right side same as in Xperia 1 and 5.

The front of smartphone comes with 6 inch FHD (1080p) resolution display. It comes with Tri-luminous LCD display panel with aspect ratio of 21:9 unlike the leading models.

Powered by a snapdragon 630 chipset the phone is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It has an external memory card slot to extend the memory.

Sony Xperia 8 runs on Android 9.0 pie capped with Xperia UI. The side sense bar can be used to display frequently used applications and settings. No Android 10 on this one, unfortunately.

The smartphone comes with a dual-sensor camera (12 MP main sensor) sitting behind an f/1.8 lens, featured by an 8 MP depth sensor at the back. 2x optical zoom, 120 fps slow-motion video, 4K video recording, and scene recognition complement the camera features of Sony Xperia 8. For selfies, Xperia has 8 MP shooter.

A 2750 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support is another feature of this mid-range. According to Sony, the battery will not deteriorate even after 2 years of use. However, it won’t last you through the day either.

The Xperia 8 will be launched in Japan and will be on the shelves at the end of October with a price tag of $505.
