“The virtual platform aims to serve Muslims across the world by providing fatwas in different languages. Today’s soft launch will include prayer-related (salah) topics through the IACAD’s channels such as the website and the smart application in Arabic and English. The next phase will include WhatsApp, which will address issues related to Ifta, such as fasting, prayer and purity, as well as other topics of interest.” said Abdullah Al Awadhi, project manager of the program,
This service will be launching in two phases, in the first pilot phase, the AI service is available two languages “Arabic and English” and it is only able to answer around 205 questions related to salah, or prayer. Initially the users can access the service through the IACAD website ( https://www.iacad.gov.ae ) while, next phase will include WhatsApp and more topics would be added, like fasting, purity and ablution, and financial matters, among others, told Tariq Al Emadi, Head of Fatwa Section, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), he added, More languages will also be added in the future.
