Africa’s tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro has been burning since Sunday. Continuous efforts are being done to extinguish the fire.
Mount Kilimanjaro is in Tanzania and has been ablaze for 3 three days now. Although the members of Tanzania National Parks Authority and locals have been trying to put it off continuously, there hasn’t been much success achieved.
The fire broke out on Sunday on the slopes of Mt Kilimanjaro and spread everywhere.
The efforts of the park authorities are being hampered because of altitude, strong winds, and the dry atmosphere, which has allowed the fire to spread vastly and faster.
However, the fire at the moment is unknown, but the source of fire is declared to be started from the Whona area, which is a rest center for climbers en route to the top of the mountain.
Greenpeace and other sources shared images and videos of the fire which show the expanse of the blaze.
