Cases Of Children Suffering From Rare Disease Raise Alarm In Health Experts

A Kawasaki like sickness is emerging in children who had been suffering from Covid-19. The occurrence has been noticed in many different areas of the country. It is being called the post-infection complication of Covid-19.

Three cases have been received by the Institute of Child Health/Children Hospital Lahore and many cities which include in Karachi, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi have also reported similar cases. This has alarmed the pediatric experts across the country.

“It is a very worrying for us that three children have been admitted to the Children’s Hospital Lahore with KD-like syndrome and other such cases are also being reported from Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Karachi”, the hospital Dean Prof Dr Masood Sadiq (Dawn News)

The symptoms of the Kawasaki Disease (KD) include fever, rashes, swelling of the hands and feet, irritation and redness of the white portion of the eyes, swollen lymph glands in the neck, and irritation and inflammation of the mouth, lips, and throat.
