Gilgit-Baltistan CM Announces 3,500 New Posts In GB Police
Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid Khan has stated on Wednesday that a summary regarding 3,500 new posts in the region’s police department has been sent to the federal government for approval.

He revealed this while speaking to the annual police darbar at the Police Recruitment and Training Centre, Gilgit.
According to Mr. Khurshid, his government had decided to give Rs14,400 annual uniform allowance to the constables from the level of constable to sub-inspector.
Just like other parts of Pakistan, a monthly risk allowance of Rs1,600 up to Rs2,000 will also be provided to policemen till the level of the inspector, he elaborated.
The chief minister also announced that as per the package for the martyrs of Gilgit-Baltistan police, Rs10 million would be paid to the martyred policemen’s families from the ranks of constable to the inspector, Rs15 million to DSP/ASP rank, and Rs20 million to the families of the martyred SPs as well as other senior officers. According to him, sons of the police martyrs would get recruitment in the police department as assistant sub-inspectors.
He further stated that required vehicles would be given for improving the police efficiency and the record of the GB police stations was being computerized.
In the meantime, while addressing a function held to observe the World Environment Day at the Karakoram International University on Wednesday, Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid stated his government was working for the protection of the mountain ecosystem.

According to him, the government would perform massive tree plantation as per the federal government’s 10 Billion Tree Tsunami project.
