Hospitals Will Not Face Shortage Of Oxygen: Hammad Azhar

Hammad Azhar, Federal Minister for Industries and Production revealed that a meeting was held by the Ministry of Industries in which it was decided that hospitals will not face the shortage of oxygen. The meeting also included the major oxygen producers.

The provision of oxygen will be the priority of the ministry. The minister made it clear in his Tweet.

“Three additional oxygen plants in the private sector will also be coming in production within the next 2 weeks,” he added.

Federal Government had already made the decision of providing the country with beds that have oxygen. 200 of them are allotted to Karachi.

Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar tweeted: “Of the additional 1,000 hospital beds with oxygen which will be ensured by the federal govt in June in major cities at least 200 will be added in Karachi.”

The World Health Organization also indicated the world is falling short of Oxygen concentrators.

 “Many countries are now experiencing difficulties obtaining oxygen concentrators,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
