Public hanging for sexual abuse convicts is recommended in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly. The abuser should be hanged publicly for three days, says the report submitted in assembly.
In a report submitted on Tuesday by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Advocate General (AG) Shumail Butt to the parliamentary committee on child protection recommended public hanging for child abusers. Mr. Butt informed the media that punishments are recommended in the light of law and constitution.
A 13-member special parliamentary committee against child abuse was held on Tuesday. KP assembly speaker Mushtaq Ghani is the chairman of the committee. Mr. Ghani said on Tuesday that a number of strict punishments for sexual abuser convicts are under consideration in the provincial assembly committee. However, the committee will take its final decision after a thorough discussion on the issue.
The AG hoped that within a month, the law will be presented in the provincial assembly while the K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has approached all parliamentary political parties to ensure that the bill passes with a unanimous vote to show unity between both sides of the aisle on the law.
