KPK’s minister for Finance Taimur Saleem Jhagra informed that the KHNP will build a 496 MW hydro-power plant in Kohistan, KPK.
However, this is over a billion-dollar project that will add value to the economy. Mr. Jhagra said that Lower Sputgah will be a first of a kind partnership; a Public-Private Partnership where the Pakhtunkhwa Govt will be a 26% shareholder. The KP govt recently issued a notice to proceed to the investor, and as a govt, we will redouble efforts accelerate progress.
More so, the KPK finance minister expressed his excitement and said
My colleague @SultanMKhanPTI and I were glad to hear that KHNP also sees this project as one of its flagship international investments and that it is interested in exploring further opportunities in the country, not just in hydro but also across solar and wind energy.
