Pakistani Oil Refining Companies are closing down their plants because of the low oil demand. Recently, it has been reported that Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) has closed down its largest crude oil plant which was refining 26,000 barrels of crude oil per day as reported by GEO News.
The oil marketing companies have not bought the oil from ARL has led the company to close the plant. This was informed to the government by Secretary Petroleum Division Mian Asad.
The smaller plants are operational which are processing 12,000 to 13,000 of barrels per day.
Byco chose not to fully shut down the refining complex so that crude refining operations can be restarted in a matter of hours should the demand pick up again,” the statement released by Byco said.
