Omar Ayub Khan the Federal Minister for Energy announced on Twitter that he directed to refer the case related to Rs 80 billion corruption of funds by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government in the Nandipur power plant project, the fund allocation for PSO fuel payment to construction and covering losses in fuel to the FIA.
Omar Ayub requested the FIA to bring all of the people who are involved in the mega corruption case to justice as soon as possible.
This year in March, the court had also rejected the release petition of Raja Pervaiz Asharaf former prime minister of Pakistan in the Nandipur power project reference.

Azam Khan pronounced the verdict of the case. The court after rejecting the release petition of the Pervaiz Asharaf ordered to continue the trial in the reference.
The court had said in its verdict that Accused could not be given relief under the amended laws of the NAB,. The former prime minister of Pakistan Raja Parvez Ashraf had filed a release petition under the new amended national accountability laws.
