Pakistani Instagram project Everyday Pakistan gets the Social Media for Empowerment 2019 Award

Citizen journalist of Pakistan is being acknowledged across borders for creating a positive image of Pakistan. Anas Saleem, the curator of the Instagram Project, Everyday Pakistan is the brains behind the Instagram project which aims to disregard the typical ideologies about Pakistan. The idea Everyday Pakistan was launched in February 2018 and was inspired by Everyday Mumbai, another Instagram project.

SM4E (Social Media for Empowerment) aims to facilitate the power of social media for making a change. More so, it also recognizes and honors the efforts of influencers to advocate any change and maintain peace in the society. This includes young journalists, entrepreneur, social media network providers, experts, and civil society. The platform has been holding awards since 2013 and believes in recognizing initiatives taken by participants despite any boundaries.

There were 180 entries in the category Citizen Media and Journalism among and was won by the brilliant Pakistani Citizen Journalist, Anas Saleem. The news was also shared via Instagram about the great win with a gratitude note to his friends and audience.
