After beating Lahore Qalandars by 18 runs last night, the bottom-placed Quetta Gladiators will be targeting to create another upset and keep themselves going in the competition when they will be facing Multan Sultans in the 25th match of PSL 2021 in Abu Dhabi today (Wednesday).
The Quetta Gladiators didn’t have a good start at the Abu Dhabi leg before beating the Lahore side by 18 runs. Although they won over PSL 2020’s finalists, Quetta will have to put much effort to keep the momentum going as their batting is still a cause of worry for the team management.
On the other hand, the Multan Sultans started well off in Abu Dhabi. The Mohammad Rizwan-led team looks confident as it has won both its matches.
Out of seven, they’ve won three matches and are at 4th position with six points, above Karachi Kings according to the net run rate.
In Sultans, captain Rizwan’s current form is highly encouraging. Sohaib Maqsood also appears to be in a lively mood, aiming to go on a storm against bowlers. Shahnawaz Dahani is also back in form and intends to remain the tournament’s top bowler.
However, Quetta will have to check the availability of Faf du Plessis for the contest after he decided to discontinue the game against Lahore Qalandars on Tuesday. The Gladiators will also expect another mature inning from Sarfaraz Ahmed as being head.
The performance of bowlers against Lahore will help in boosting confidence for Sarfaraz and he will expect the same show against the Southern Punjab side on Wednesday.
