The Government of Punjab has launched Qeemat App on Monday to control the increasing prices. The news was released through the official Twitter account of the Government of Punjab.
The service is launched for five cities which include Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Gujranwala. This app will connect the consumers to the wholesale markets for keeping a check on the prices.
An official stated previously regarding the app, “The new system will link consumers to the wholesale markets where rates are much lower than from the retail market. This is so because fruits and vegetables reach people through the greedy middlemen and big-time hoarders running cold storage chains,” However, this service is not available for now.
For now, it will also administer the prices and will respond to registered complaints of consumers. Vegetables, poultry, and fruit prices can be checked on the app for comparison.
