Supreme Court Withdrew The Order Of Reopening Markets On Weekend

Supreme Court withdraws the decision of reopening the markets on Saturday and Sunday. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed led a larger bench in order to hear the reopening of markets case.

The Federal Government told CJ that it is doing to everything to contain the spread of the virus to which the court responded that the government still has not been able to develop legislation on protection against coronavirus.

“If every institution of the country can work then why not Parliament?” CJP Gulzar raised the question.

The Supreme Court was informed by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) that the country now has the capacity of conducting 30,000 tests.

“30,000 tests are not enough in a country having a population of more than 220 million,” said CJP.

More so, NDMA was also asked about the measures so far taken to control the locust attack. The NDMA responded that they have bought a special jet from Turkey to avoid the attack.
