The Designer Of Kaaba Door Muneer Al Jundi Passed Away

Muneer Al Jundi, the designer of Kaaba Door, has passed away in Stuttgart, Germany on Saturday.

In 1976, he designed the door of the Holy Kaaba which was installed in 1978 by request of King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz.

In 1976, the Saudi King Shah Khalid had offered prayers inside the Baitullah after that he had directed to make the door of Khana Kaaba made of 24-carat gold.

Engineer and Designer Munir Al-Jundi from Syria was selected to design the door of Kaaba. Sheikh Mahmud bin Badr was a great goldsmith in Makkah, in his factory door of Kaaba was designed.

Al Badr family had also been a trusted family by the founder of the kingdom, King Abdulaziz Al Saud so he gave the responsibility of preparing the door of Baitullah.  In 1977, the door of Kaaba was made with 280 kilograms of pure gold.

The Saudi government wanted a Muslim figure to design the door of the Kaaba because his name was to be mentioned on the door. Engineer and designer, Al-Jundi also has the honor of having his name engraved on the door of Kaaba as a designer.
