US-Huawei Trade War Takes a New Blow: Huawei Announces $26 Million Investment for building Apps for its Phones.

On Wednesday, at an event in London Huawei revealed its plan and offered developers British and Irish developers to develop apps for its flagship phones. The decision is taken in response to the US put a trade ban with Huawei. Under that ban, the US government made it compulsory for US companies to seek permission from the government before doing any business with Huawei.

However, old Huawei phones will still have Google play services but all those new Huawei phones do not have the Google App store. Huawei launched its phone in September last year which did not have google play services.

To overcome the issue, Huawei says it is investing £20 million in the UK and Ireland development industry, with developers able to claim up to £20,000 for any apps uploaded to the Huawei Gallery by the end of January. Huawei has been working to develop its own app ecosystem.

Currently, there are a few apps available through Huawei’s app store and popular apps are still not available. Amazon, Snapchat, TikTok, and Fortnite are available through the App Gallery.

Huawei also plans to replace Android OS with its own customized ‘Harmony Operating System’ Currently new Huawei phones run on an open-source version of Android.
