Zimbabwe Cricket Team Visits Pakistan; Head Coach Pulls Out
The Zimbabwe Cricket Team has arrived in Pakistan to play two limited-overs series against Pakistan starting from Oct 30th.
The Zimbabwe Cricket Team has arrived in Pakistan to play two limited-overs series against Pakistan starting from Oct 30th. They reach Islamabad on Tuesday.
Officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board welcomed the Zimbabwe team at the airport. They will have to quarantine themselves in Islamabad for 7 days i.e. from Oct 21-27.
The team left for Pakistan from Zimbabwe with a twenty player’s squad on Monday. The Zimbabwe team is visiting Pakistan after five years.
However, their head coach Lalchand Rajput will miss out on this series with Pakistan. According to sources, he pulled out over travel restrictions. In a statement from Zimbabwe Cricket, it mentioned that the Indian embassy asked for an exemption for the head coach visiting Pakistan because of travel guidelines from the Indian Government for its citizens.
In his place, bowling coach, Douglas Hondo has taken charge.
Pakistan will be playing 3 One-Day Internationals and 3 T20 International. The ODI’S are arranged Rawalpindi from Oct 30th–Nov 1st and T20’s are scheduled in Lahore from Nov 7th-10th.

According to a press release by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the ODI’s held in Rawalpindi is part of the qualifying round for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League. Seven top-ranked teams, besides India, the host of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, will qualify directly to the international tournament.
