Italy, one of the European countries with the most reported deaths, is now willing to relax the restriction in order to resume the economy and normal life in the country.
This will be done by the end of April. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte revealed this to BBC on April 9. “We need to pick sectors that can restart their activity. If scientists confirm it, we might begin to relax some measures already by the end of this month,” Conte told the British broadcaster.

However, this relaxation will be done step by step. The reason for this relaxation is the low death rate since there has been a slight decrease in the deaths. There were only 542 deaths reported on Wednesday lower than 64 the day before taking the total tally to 17,669. There more than 3500 people in Intensive Care Unit.

Italy imposed the lockdown on March 9 which later was so strict that even cars were not allowed to move.
However, the relaxation has been made on the request of industrialists who think that economy needs to be resumed. The northern regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna which represents the 45% of the Italy’s economy has requested government to do so.
