Many people are enquiring about activist Malala Yousufzai’s views on marriage with the British Vogue, including TV host ‘Mathira’. She has graced the ‘British Vogue’ cover for July 2021 edition.
“I love her cover,” stated Mathira. However, she recommended Malala to teach the new generation about marriage and commented that signing Nikah papers is not just “buying a plot”.
The Nobel honouree massively attracted social media and won admiration for featuring in the July 2021 issue of the British Vogue magazine.
A particular photo displaying her in a red shalwar kameez with a blue dupatta floating against a black background was widely shared on Twitter.
Malala discussed in detail women’s education and politics, but what drew a lot of attention were her views on marriage.
“I still don’t have the idea why people have to get married. If you want to have someone in your life, why you must sign marriage papers, why can’t it be just a partnership?” She acknowledged that her mother disagrees with her opinion and asks her not to talk like that about ‘marriage’. But according to Malala, one changes with time.
“Being married is a blessing,” stated Mathira. “Yes, sometimes marriages don’t get success but it’s okay.”
Mathira elaborated that though she is divorced, however, she will get married again in case she finds the right man.
