Pakistan International Airline (PIA)’s the legal team is scheduled to appear Today before the British and Malaysian courts.

Due to a legal issue between Pakistan’s flagship airline and another party, the Malaysian local court had ordered for PIA’s plane to be held back at the airport last week.

The PIA shared that the reason for the plane being held back was a one-sided decision in a legal issue between the airline and another party. They said the dispute was still pending in a court of the United Kingdom.

They said through their official account on Twitter, “A PIA aircraft has been held back by a local court in Malaysia taking one-sided decision pertaining to a legal dispute between PIA and another party pending in a UK court. The passengers are being looked after and alternate arrangements for their travel have been finalized.”

They further added, “It is an unacceptable situation and PIA has engaged the support from Government of Pakistan to take up this matter using diplomatic channels.”

Federal Minister of Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan had shared earlier that PIA did not pay the lease of the held plane due to recession owed to coronavirus pandemic and the Malaysian court passed orders without hearing the argument of the flagship airline.
