CDA Planning On Constructing A Road- Yet Again.
details of the road.
On 14th march CDA decided to build 7.8-kilometer pass on bahra kahu road, in order to eliminate traffic problems. Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is responsible for the construction work as they have been assigned this task while the details of the project would be shared later by the CDA authorities.
The traffic on the bahra kahu road is clogged because the road is quite stretched and it is far worse when people from both the adjoining cities starting visiting Murree on weekends-even worse during the vacations. The traffic jam, also then, on main routes disrupts the residents and the traffic on inner routes.

The roads leading towards Murree are quite well- developed but the concerned authorities are unable to solve all the traffic problems because day by day there is a rapid increase in private vehicles because of the lack of pubic vehicles, which obviously causes traffic congestion. With this, comes a load of noise pollution and other health hazards due to the smoke burning out- the traffic jam can cause serious health problems as the smoke from the car give rise to gases that are hazardous for health e.g., carbon monoxide. The existence of these hazardous gases is not just dangerous for people who have underlying problems but even to those, who are not facing any issue otherwise.
It was also revealed by one of the officials that the idea and as well as some work on this project was initiated during the tenure of PMLN.
“The Nawaz-led government initially took interest in the project but later it was postponed for unknown reasons. Now PTI member Ali Nawaz Awan made efforts and brought it out from the cold storage.”
The advantages of this road would be controlling of the immense traffic jam on bahra kahu main road and as well as reduction of the concentration of harmful gases in the area- let’s see how things unfold.
